The Multicultural Association, Chaleur Region is a non-profit organization that promotes the cultural development of our region and assists in the settlement and integration of our newcomers.

The MACR aims to:

• Facilitate contact and communication between the various ethnic and cultural groups in the region.

• Promote harmonious relations between cultural groups and individuals.

• Provide information and assistance to newcomers to the community.

• To increase public awareness and promote acceptance of multiculturalism.

Nature of work:

The Multicultural Association of the Chaleur Region is seeking a dynamic and organized Community Connection Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating events, mentorship programs, and activities aimed at promoting the Canadian way of life to newcomers in the Chaleur region. This includes managing and recruiting our volunteers. Other tasks include promoting and marketing activities as well as assisting the management with various administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Coordination of Events and Activities:

o Plan and organize events, mentorship programs, and activities that promote the Canadian way of life.

o Manage volunteers, including recruitment, training, and scheduling.

2. Promotion and Marketing:

o Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the association's events and activities.

o Create promotional materials and manage communications on social media and other platforms.

3. Administrative Support:

o Assist the management with various administrative tasks, including preparing reports and managing internal communications.

Qualifications:

• Education in event management, marketing, administration, or a related field.

• Proven experience in coordinating events and managing volunteers.

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Proficiency in marketing tools and social media platforms.

• Flexibility in work schedules, including some evenings and weekends.

• Fluency in both French and English, both spoken and written.
