Location: 325 Main Street E2A1B1 - Bathurst
Under the responsibility of the Director, the Project Coordinator will support the team members in the management of the Association's projects and activities.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
• Coordinate and deliver various activities related to the organization:
o Develop a program of special activities organized by the Association.
o Coordinate the organization of activities for newcomers and members.
o Coordinate volunteers for the organization's activities.
o Produce the quarterly newsletter of the AMRC
o Be responsible for organizing the International Festival which occurs once a year.
o Implement programs and activities to encourage multiculturalism, awareness and appreciation of different cultural perspectives and promote the values of respect and tolerance.
Develop and maintain a variety of working relationships with many key partners
- Develop relationships and partnerships with community groups, schools, churches that have similar missions and goals to those of the AMRC in collaboration with the Youth Officer.
- Develop strategies to encourage multiculturalism and appreciation of different cultural perspectives.
Support the organization in its work:
- Provide ticket sales for MACR events.
- Act as photographer for MACR events.
- Handle all logistics for MACR events.
- Handle the reception duties of the MACR
- Inform clients who come to the MACR reception desk about the services offered and redirect them to the appropriate department
- Respond to generic emails and phone calls.
- Collaborate with other staff to complement the services offered to newcomers
- Assist the Settlement Officer with new clients as needed for settlement or exploratory visits.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years relevant experience and knowledge of immigration would be an asset.
. Ability to interact in an intercultural context
- Attentive to listening, empathy, non-judgmental value, patience and sense of responsibility
- Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Bilingual (French and English)
- Team player
Recognized for his/her dynamism, sense of initiative, creativity and interpersonal skills
. Excellent planning and organizational skills, effective time management, autonomy and ability to prioritize work
Willingness to work at a fast pace
Working conditions
Legally entitled to work in Canada
Successful criminal record check for work
Valid driver's license
Job Status:
Full time - 37.5 hours/week
work Monday to Friday, but may be available on weekends and evenings on occasion
