The Multicultural Association Chaleur Region (MACR) is a non-profit charity organization dedicated to welcoming newcomers arriving in Canada, specifically in our Chaleur Region, the North East part of the province of New Brunswick.

The Executive Director

The Executive Director plans, organizes, manages, coordinates and controls all services rendered by the MACR. Considering the orientations of the Board of Directors, the Executive Director also manages the human, technical and financial resources. The Executive Director is also responsible for promoting the association to the newcomers, the welcoming community to the Chaleur region, the employers, the stakeholders, and the other multicultural associations.

Job qualifications

Have successfully completed a minimum three-year postsecondary degree in international relations, business administration, public administration, psychology, sociology, education or social sciences. Appropriate experience or training in a relevant field, if adequately justified by the candidate, may be considered as equivalent;

5 years of relevant experience including experience in supervision.

Strong communication skills and bilingual English/French– written and oral communication skills;

Good computer skills;

Strong skills in negotiation and mediation;

Ability to work independently and in a team.

Definite assets

Knowledge of the reality surrounding immigration;

Knowledge of community partners and economic development agencies;

Knowledge of objectives of federal and provincial programs regarding immigration;

Experience in working internationally or in a multicultural environment;

Experience in administration and financial management;

Experience in event management, communication and public relation.

Other requirements

Available to work overtime evenings and weekends when required;

Candidate should have a valid driver’s license and have his/her own means of transportation.
